I Am Nicole M. Anderson
Nicole M. Anderson was born Nicole M. Williams in Kingston, New York, to Katherine Williams and Edward Rodriguez. Though her roots began in New York, much of her early childhood was shaped by time spent with her beloved Aunt Pat in Indiana, who cared for her while serving in the military.
During that time, as a first grader, Nicole stood alongside her classmates and sang “I Am a Promise”, a song that would become a quiet anthem over her life. Even then, without fully realizing it, she was declaring that she was full of potential, possibility, and divine purpose. That moment, small as it may have seemed, planted a seed of identity and calling that would grow with her.
Eventually, Nicole relocated to South Florida, settling in the small town of Pahokee with her mother. But by the age of 15, life’s challenges left her navigating the world largely on her own. Still, she pressed. The world didn’t wait, and neither did she. Drawing from the limited but powerful foundation she’d been given, she forged ahead with grit, grace, and faith.
Nicole survived an abusive relationship, became a young mother, and slowly began to build a life rooted in resilience and redemption. She spent most of her adult life in Florida, raising a family, building a career, and discovering herself as a gifted storyteller, a law enforcement professional, and a ministry leader. Though she lived far from her birthplace, her love for New York never faded, and she returned as often as life allowed.
In time, Nicole became a certified corrections and law enforcement officer, all while working full-time and raising her children. Her unwavering commitment to growth and service carried her through every season of life, including the sudden loss of her husband, a turning point that would eventually lead her and her children to Seattle, Washington.
There, Nicole would begin to uncover the deeper call on her life. Today, she is an author, speaker, ministry overseer, singer-songwriter, photographer, videographer, and entertainment manager. She is also the founder of a production company and continues to tell stories that inspire healing, hope, and transformation.
Nicole is remarried and now the mother of nine children, including one adult child on the autism spectrum and another with Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome). Their lives have taught her the beauty of unconditional love, deep empathy, and unshakable faith.
Her debut memoir, Why Not Me?, is a testament to her journey, from brokenness to breakthrough, and a reminder that God’s grace still reaches the darkest valleys.
